National Croquet Day


About: An English garden party is planned for NCD, complete with Pimm's Cup, cucumber sandwiches, traditional desserts, and members dressed in suitable attire. 

  1. Members may invite 1 or 2 guests to experience croquet (learn how to hit a ball and receive details of membership).
  2. 20-minute golf croquet games organized to demonstrate the simplicity of this most popular format.
  3. Encourage members to wear garden party attire (old or contemporary).
  4. Awarding prizes for best hat and best dressed.


Where: The home of Hal and Wendy Denton, Larkin's Hundred, which dates back to 1704. With its beautiful all-weather lawn, the historic house provides a magnificent setting for a celebration of our wonderful sport.

What to Bring: Each member is asked to bring a platter, a dish, or a dessert. Please also bring chairs, and coolers with ice.
